On Monday, May 20, 2013, Gensamer & Company Marketing Communications LLC officially suspended its’ on-going operations.
While we were successfully able to keep our doors open for the past two years and three months, obtaining two small non-profit clients in the process, the continued distressed economic situation here in the United States and globally, has made it impossible to proceed further.
We made great strides in our new business efforts, including trade advertising, industry networking, trade shows, Direct Mail outreach to prospective clients and even social marketing via Facebook and LinkedIn. But unfortunately, without third-party funding, venture capital or other assistance, we were unable to gain the critical mass (via larger clients) that was needed to succeed.
Our philosophy has always been, it’s “bankable results” that matter most to our clients, not the medium used. And, that a more balanced, integrated approach, including all channels, is needed for success. Unfortunately, all marketers do not share this view, and many see technologically driven channels as the “end-all, be-all” with today’s “modern” marketing. Today, buzzwords like “clicks”, “likes”, “tweets” and “impressions” are the new lingo - often, however, forgetting the most important marketing word ever, “profit”. This frequently changing mix further complicated the Agency’s success.
While this particular venture has now ceased operations, agency founder, Fletcher Gensamer plans to remain within the industry.
